Hi everyone,

I got two cats at home, Coffee which is a female seal point siamese and Mikko who is a male pure white persian (traditional). They live inside our house and never got a chance to mingle with other cats. Also they are so close to each other and my friends told me that I should not be surprised if not for long Coffee will get pregnant.

I would like to know if it is okay for these two healthy but different breeds to mate? What will their litters look like? I heared of Himalayan breeds and I saw that they look like persians with blue eyes and sealpoints of a siamese. Is these the product of the cross-breed? If ever, is it a guaranteed result? Also, will "who-is-the-male/who-is-the-female" thing affect the dominant features/appearance of the litter?

Will they be also healthy or will there be some possible deffects that would arise?

TIA

Hi, we got our first cat this january. It wasn't planned but one day we saw him and couldn't resist. My partner is a real cat person, I was never that bothered but I'm glad we got him.
Sebastian was extremely young but as he was already away from his mum we wanted to give him a good home. Hes a black siamese but he looks very burmese. however, he's incredibly destructive and when i let him out he just runs away.
he's 6 months old now and i only went back to work a month ago so hes only just started to be left on his own for any length of time. i know hes a noisy breed but i just cant make him happy. there is rarely a time that he will just sit and be nice. he wont sleep in with us because he meows, picks the carpet and stamps all over us. i hate locking him in a room at night but i cant not, i dont get any sleep.

i need some advice. we r hoping to get him neutered next month but i wanted to wait until after he was 6 months. do you think that will help or could there be an underlying issue? is there anything they r particularly prone to? im at my wits end but i wont quit this! i just need some help. he is a stunningly beautiful cat, so gorgeously black and sleek. hes got his big teeth through and hes had all his injections. he eats well but he loves being in water. he put his feet in his water bowl and 'digs' the water. he does the same in the bath and the sink and i cant help but think its weird!!

Hi a friend is trying to rehome a Siamese and we are considering our options.
We currently have a small male neutered rescue moggy who is very laid back and takes it all in his stride.
But we have a Dalmatian who is very gentle with all things 4 legged and is great mates with the cat and knows the cat is boss.

Here's the thing I seem to remember Siamese don't like other cats ( I could be wrong as my ex wife has a Tonkinese which is fine with other cats) and I realise that liking the dog is an individual issue.

Now the Siamese is less than a year old so this helps but I'm looking for some advice here on other peoples experience.

Don't want the poor cat to end up rehomed twice if I can at all help it.

When I picked him up at the rescue house he actually hugged me! After that it was all over. He is getting along surprisingly well with our 5 other cats. I have heard the siamese are vocal but other then that I know very little about them. Can anyone tell me what to expect?

Hi! Ramey adopted me about a month ago. It would appear that he had a good home at one time that couldn't keep him. He took shelter in my crawl space, and now owns my heart. The vet has estimated his age at 5 to 8 years old. He's rather small, slender, kink in the tail, huge eyes, small angular face. (in fact, we first thought he was a female, he's so small and dainty) Tail, face and legs are all black. The rest of him, though, seems to be an undercoating of tan with sparse black hair covering. Immediately in front of his ears, he is light colored which fades to black on his face. He doesn't have the "siamese" cry, just a normal meow, which makes me think he's the product of a Siamese and an outsider.

I would really appreciate some insight. Since I got him I considered him at least part Siamese because of his facial shape.

Thanks so much!!!

Sad to say that I just saw a siamese male cat roaming at our backyard last week. He seems to be very hungry and with a very bad wound at the back (near the tail). I tried to approach the cat but he was hissing and very afraid. Knowing not what to do I just offered a meal for him. Since I can't keep him 'coz I don't know where he's from and couldn't even touch him so he left after eating. Animal welfare is not very efficient in our place so animal rescue is quite impossible in this nature of case. But the way the cat looks is definetly a pitty.

I hope nothing bad would happen to the cat and that he would come back once in a while so I could at least feed him in our backyard.

I'm Reverend Ernie Catanghal from the Philippines and I just got my kids a 4 month old Siamese kitten and we named her "COFFEE". My wife and kids love her so much that we are always kidding that "since our kids got Coffee they wont get enogh sleep":D. They love playing with her (and even lying down with her and watching her as she sleeps) and in return Coffee would also compensate them with her own adorable antics, :DCUTE!

We just got her dewormed and boosted with anti-rabies. Next week is her FPL vaccination. She eats a lot and have increased weight of .40kgs in 3 weeks alone. One time I bought her some cat chewey stuff but it seems she doesn't like it, maybe we'll try to find other stuff for her.

We could never be hapier before, hope she'll be with us in so many years to come. I will be posting her pictures soon.

P.S.
Since we want to have only one pet cat in the family, we are thinking about spaying. Is it ok at her age?

Bobby is the first cat of my own breeding I am keeping for breeding purposes. She is a Seal Spotted Tabby Oriental that NEVER stops purring!!!!! She loves to snuggle, with anyone who turns up and I have had multiple kitten buyers that have tried to convince we into selling her to them instead of the kitten they came to view!

Voodoo is the first queen I got when I started out breeding.

She has had two litters with me now, and is currently pregnant with her third. She has been my best breeding queen so far with decent sized litters, and mother-hood just seems to be something she was born for. Once I decide to retire Voodoo from breeding, she will be remaining in my cattery.

Rex

Rex is the father of all the kittens I have bred to date. Rex I was told would go no where in the show ring as he is a pure siamese, therefore "old style". Rex recently gained his ACF AoE Brze Gd Ch title - so much for not going anywhere!!!! We now have a second stud (Voodoo is currently pregnant to him) so Rex will most likely be retired soon. Like Voodoo, Rex will never be leaving my cattery.

Well...these are all the photos I have available at present. I shall post photos of more of my cats when I get the photos uploaded. :)

Fev (the one and only cat I will ever let my husband name! LOL He named him after his favourite AFL football player - Brendan Fevola. Brendan Fevola plays for his team - Carlton (also known as "The Blues") Fev is a Blue point siamese, therefore hubby decided a blue point deserved a "blues" name that didn't make his "blues" name sound depressing).

Fev is also my first homebred champion show cat. Fev has been desexed but never was sold as he learned this neato trick of HIDING when kitten buyers came around! He has since become my husband's baby...and now we can never sell him!

Now for little Bobby

I am a member of multiple cat forums - not all specific to siamese.

I have noticed throughout the years that breeders corner's can get rather b*tchy at times. To keep this kind of thing a bit more "private" & not something that potential members might see (IE scare them away!) the forum owners make the Breeder's corner a restricted access area. Only registered breeders can gain access and they have to ask a moderator for access (I myself do this to my own forum). To prove they are registered they must send a PM to one of the moderators and provide their registered prefix and registering body - this way the moderators can go to the registering bodies website and check to see if that prefix appears on their breeder listing.

Sometimes the forum owners do this restricted access by adding a password to the forum, othertimes is down via member grouping and the member is just added into that group which then gives them access to the area.....I guess the method itself relies on:
A) how the individual forum software runs, and
b) The owner's individual preferance as to what way is easiest way for registered breeders to be allowed access to the forum (IE some forum software programs only allow group changes via the admin panel, which the owner may not want all moderators to get access too)

Might be something you may want to consider when the forum gets a bit more active. :-)
